Sofia is an associate in Eurasia Group's Middle East & North Africa practice, focusing primarily on the Gulf region.
Previously, Sofia worked for the EU's External Action Service at its delegation to the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh. Prior to that, she worked for RAND Europe in Brussels, where she focused on a wide range of security- and defense-related projects, including in the areas of counterterrorism and cybersecurity. Sofia has also worked for the Finnish Foreign Ministry, the European Commission, and the American Civil Liberties Union. She holds master's degrees in international relations with a Middle East specialization from the London School of Economics and in European studies from the College of Europe.
