Former Goldman Sachs Managing Director Maziar Minovi, author Robert D. Kaplan join expanded Eurasia Group Global Macro research team

NEW YORK, 18 March – Maziar Minovi joins Eurasia Group as Managing Director from Goldman Sachs, where he was Managing Director and a senior member of the Investment Strategy Group in Private Wealth Management. A member of Eurasia Group's firm-wide leadership team, he will lead the firm's efforts to optimize strategy on research product development. Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Maziar had 25 years of experience investing in international and emerging markets. At Goldman Sachs, he focused on identifying investment opportunities in emerging markets, including debt, equities, and currencies, as well as geopolitical and global policy issues with market impact. Robert D. Kaplan, most recently senior advisor at Eurasia Group and a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security, is taking on a new role as Managing Director. In this role, he advises investors and executive leadership at Eurasia Group clients on political risks in the 100 countries he has traveled to or worked in. Robert is a bestselling author of 18 books on foreign affairs and travel and a prolific essayist. For three decades he reported on foreign affairs for The Atlantic.
