China wants to avoid potentially embarrassing direct coronavirus inquiry: Eurasia Group

China has backed the World Health Organization's international probe into its handling of the coronavirus outbreak to sidestep a “potentially embarrassing” direct inquiry that may hurt its global reputation, says Eurasia Group's Michael Hirson, who calls the US-China relationship “the worst it's been in decades."
