As a director for Eurasia Group's Global Macro-Geostrategy practice, Michael drives new and existing client relationships, manages bespoke projects, and advises companies and organizations on understanding and mitigating political and macro risks.
 
Before joining Eurasia Group, Michael worked as a partner heading the Vietnam office for YCP Solidiance, an Asia-focused advisory firm; served as a research analyst for Roubini Global Economics; and worked for the Open Society Foundation in New York City. 
 
Michael earned a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor's degree in anthropology from George Washington University. He has studied Vietnamese in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Michael loves to explore cities, towns, and villages in long, wandering walks but is equally happy sitting at a streetside cafe watching life unfold.
