Before joining Eurasia Group, Mingda worked as an independent consultant, offering insights on China's economic and industrial development for US-based firms. Previously, he served as a research associate with the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC, where he led research support for the China Innovation Policy Series, a multi-year initiative examining China's drive for innovation and its wider outcomes. Earlier in his career, he conducted China-focused research at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center in Saudi Arabia and the Energy Studies Institute at the National University of Singapore.
Mingda holds a master of international affairs, with concentrations in international politics and economics, from the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California, San Diego. He also earned a bachelor of social sciences with honors in political science from the National University of Singapore.
Having lived for nearly a decade each in China, Singapore, and the US, Mingda enjoys exploring new cultures and seeking experiences off the beaten path. Outside of work, he is an avid coffee enthusiast, continually working to perfect his pour-over and latte art skills.
