Connor handles Eurasia Group's coverage of East African countries and monitors Africa's financial markets more broadly. Previously, Connor worked as an African debt market analyst with Bloomberg, where he acquired wide experience covering macro developments in the region, as well as their socio-political undercurrents. Before this work for central bank and institutional investor clients, Connor produced high-level due diligence for local and international private equity investors looking for opportunities in East African markets.
Connor holds a master's degree in economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a bachelor's degree in economics from the London School of Economics, where he helped establish the Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa. For a time back in 2012, he ended up sharing an apartment with a goat in Masaka, Uganda, product of his tendency to overbid in the local livestock markets.
