Connor Vasey is Eurasia Group's director for frontier markets. He helps corporate, financial, and government clients deploy investments and manage high-stakes situations in the world's most complex jurisdictions. In addition, he leads coverage of East and Southern Africa and co-manages Eurasia Group's distressed debt offering.
Previously, Connor was a director at Africa Matters Ltd, where he co-led the firm's strategic advisory work across Africa. He also worked at Bloomberg as an African debt market analyst, serving institutional and central bank clients. Before that, he worked with private equity investors seeking opportunities in the region.
Connor holds a master's degree in economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a bachelor's degree in economics from the London School of Economics, where he helped establish the Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa. During a 2012 stint in Uganda, he shared an apartment with a goat, the product of his tendency to overbid at local livestock markets.
