As head of Eurasia Group's United States practice, Jonathan Lieber tracks political and policy developments in Washington. With extensive experience on Capitol Hill, he helps clients understand the interplay between business and government, and the impact of legislative, regulatory, and electoral outcomes on their business strategies.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Jon was the head of policy research for Thumbtack, a San Francisco-based startup. He previously served as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's principal advisor on economic policy, including tax, trade, and financial services. Prior to that, Jon worked as chief economist of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and as deputy director at the National Economic Council at the White House. He served as an economist on the House Ways and Means Committee, and as a researcher of monetary policy at the American Enterprise Institute. Jon earned a master's degree in economics and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Tufts University. He has traveled to 44 states and five continents, and spends his personal time chasing after his dog and two young kids.
