About Eurasia Group

Eurasia Group provides the marketplace with a comprehensive and integrated set of political risk solutions. Our clients range from macro hedge funds to institutional investors, from family businesses to the world's largest multinational corporations. What they all share is a desire to better manage the risks and opportunities that flow from politics.

We take a structured approach to understanding these challenges. We provide our clients with both qualitative and quantitative tools to anticipate and manage political risks, and to profit from them. Our multi-faceted approach allows us to adapt to the rapidly evolving world of geopolitics.

Position overview:

Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and versatile candidate with strong client-facing credentials and familiarity with technology regulatory trends to serve as a Senior Analyst for European technology regulatory issues in our expanding Geo-technology practice. This position will play a key role helping Eurasia Group clients navigate political and regulatory uncertainty in a fast-changing and geopolitically sensitive region at the intersection of technology and regulatory development.   In addition to a solid technical background in European politics, at the Brussels level, the ideal candidate will also bring a mix of private sector, technology sector, government policy, and/or international experience to the job. This will involve working closely with other members of the geo-technology practice and other sector, country, and cross-functional Eurasia Group experts.

Working directly under Eurasia Group’s Practice Head for Geo-technology, responsibilities for the Senior Analyst for Eurotech role will include:

  • Developing original research, analysis and business insights into political, policy, and technology trends in the EU.
  • Specific areas of focus will include advising on developments in Brussels views on digital taxes, platform regulation, data privacy and governance, AI regulation, ICT supply chain security, export controls, and multilateral and bilateral engagement in all these issues.
  • Some knowledge of important EU member state government regulatory regimes, thought leaders, and interactions with Brussels would also be beneficial.
  • Developing and delivering insightful effective client presentations, workshops, briefings, and memos on fintech-related political, technology, and regulatory trends.
  • Drive Eurasia Group’s thought leadership on the geopolitics of EU and member state tech regulation through op-eds, articles, and public speaking engagements.
  • Lead client projects related to the EU, key member states and broader data/tech policy issues, including scoping and delivery of work, team management, and client relationship management.
  • Participate in regular client calls and written updates on breaking events; take the initiative in working on business development and other client focused-consulting projects.
  • Assist in the design and development of new research products and analytical tools, such as policy trackers, informational graphics, and explainers on new topics and themes meriting deeper coverage.

Qualifications and Other Information:

Our work environment is often fast-paced and very demanding. You must have an entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual rigor, and strong discipline. You will be expected to manage complex research projects on tight deadlines. You must have excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and be comfortable presenting and defending your analysis before senior executives at some of the world’s largest companies.

You must have professional experience that reflects strong skills as an analyst and a communicator. Candidates should have a mix of public sector and private sector experience; a management consulting background or other experience managing complex projects is a plus. Candidates with significant in-country and sectoral experience are preferred, and a relevant advanced degree is required. Strong writing skills and a deep professional network on fintech issues are a must. Professional/research fluency in at least one language relevant to areas covered by the Geo-technology Practice is a plus but not a requirement, as is proficiency with PowerPoint.

Applicants will be considered for the firm’s Washington DC and London offices, and all applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and United Kingdom.
