About Eurasia Group
Eurasia Group provides the marketplace with a comprehensive and integrated set of political risk solutions. Our clients range from macro hedge funds to institutional investors, from family businesses to the world's largest multinational corporations. What they all share is a desire to better manage the risks and opportunities that flow from politics.
We take a structured approach to understanding these challenges. We provide our clients with both qualitative and quantitative tools to anticipate and manage political risks, and to profit from them. Our multi-faceted approach allows us to adapt to the rapidly evolving world of geopolitics.

Position overview:
Eurasia Group is seeking to hire a researcher to support our analytic team focused on global macro and financial markets. The team is at the fulcrum of Eurasia Group’s efforts to link up our cutting-edge political risk analysis with best-in-class economic thinking and latest developments in financial markets. This position will work closely with the team that produces daily research products that distill out our firm’s key views on latest events and upcoming political risks for financial clients, along with client presentations and other analyses that feature how markets are responding to political risks and pressures, and where we think political risks may have impacts on asset prices in the future.

For this role a desirable candidate will need to have academic and research experience in global politics and macroeconomics. Substantial comfort working with data and producing chartwork in Microsoft Excel is an absolute requirement for this position. We need someone who is comfortable not just in working with data but also in analyzing trends in data to draw conclusions about what the data is telling us and where things are headed.

Extreme attention to detail and patience in managing basic processes like uploading our research content into our online portal is also a must.

A desirable candidate will also have familiarity with movements in global financial markets and the ability to understand and manipulate data about asset prices. Experience at a global financial institution or asset manager is a major plus for this position. Bloomberg terminal familiarity is also required.

This role will also have responsibilities for broader data work we produce across the firm; for example working with publicly available public health data to draw conclusions about the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic across major markets and globally. We need someone with a unique mind who can work with data and draw out comparisons and trends from within large data sets.

We are also looking for someone with promising writing skills and a good mind for political research and analysis.

Finally we require a candidate who is comfortable with a fast-moving, changing, small-company environment; someone who can deal with ambiguity and a lack of formal structures. We need someone who is low-ego, a team player, someone who focuses on solving problems and can take on leadership in all these areas over time.

At Eurasia Group, we strive to put politics first for our clients. This requires us to maintain a company culture that puts people first. We are committed to fostering an environment that is inclusive, empowering, and globally minded. We firmly believe that diversity in gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, cultural background, religion, disability, and age brings ideas and perspectives to the table that make our analysis stronger for our clients and make our company a better place to work for our people. Our leadership team is committed to embedding diversity and inclusion into everything we do and how we lead.
