Tomas is an associate on the Macro-Geoeconomics team, working at the intersection of politics, economics, and markets. He has extensive experience as a markets macroeconomist, with a particular interest in monetary policy and a regional specialization in Latin America and Europe.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Tomas worked as an interest rates strategist on Goldman Sachs's macroeconomic research team, with a focus on the Eurozone, UK, Scandinavian, and Swiss economies. He has also held buyside positions covering the Brazilian and US economies. Tomas holds a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor's degree from the University of Sao Paulo, both in economics. An avid language-learner, Tomas speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, and is currently studying Italian.
