Tochi analyzes political and economic developments in West Africa, focusing primarily on Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal. He also tracks regional trends in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in macroeconomics, security, trade policy, and technology.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Tochi earned a master's degree in economics at New York University, concentrating in econometrics and economic development. During this time, Tochi worked as a research assistant at the NYU Center for Technology and Economic Development and at NYU Africa House, where he conducted academic research on commodities exchanges and agricultural markets in Ghana. Tochi attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics. In his spare time, enjoys photography, architecture, and watching European football.
