Akhil covers India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka for Eurasia Group. Prior to joining the firm, he was the lead researcher for the India & South Asia practice at McLarty Associates, focusing on state-level reforms, data privacy, and data localization issues, as well as US-India trade relations. He also spent a year working in Tokyo as an assistant consultant for Fujitsu Research Institute, where he advised Japanese companies on market entry strategies for India, focusing on opportunities in India's infrastructure and beverage sectors.
Akhil earned a master's degree in international business and policy from Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service and McDonough School of Business. He also holds a bachelor's degree in history from Franklin & Marshall College. A DC native, Akhil is a strong supporter of local sports teams, most notably the 2017-2018 Stanley Cup champions Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals.
