Chief Executive Officer, egX

In his role as the founding chief executive officer of egx, Sean is helping to establish a next-generation platform for applied geopolitics. Sean oversees the firm's technology-driven products, investment partnerships, corporate alliances, executive education program, and public speaking offerings.

Over the last ten years, Sean has been a serial “intrapreneur” at Eurasia Group. With egx, he is positioning Eurasia Group as a central node in the political risk industry—a convener of unique solutions for the world's most complex geopolitical challenges. Since 2013, he has served as the firm's global deputy CEO, during which time he led Eurasia Group's expansion in the Eastern Hemisphere. Prior to that, he founded the firm's US practice group and developed its approach to developed-country political risk for financial markets and corporate clients.

Sean is a noted geopolitical expert whose predictions and analyses have been recognized and published by the world's top broadcast and print outlets. He is an in-demand speaker on how firms and investors can best navigate the geopolitical crosscurrents of a world turbo-charged by new technologies.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Sean was a management consultant at Deloitte and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School where he completed the Advanced Management Program. He holds a master of public policy degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught classes on US politics and globalization, as well as a bachelor's degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Sean is struggling to learn bossa nova guitar—if this line disappears from his bio, you will know he has given up.
