Eurasia Group internship opportunity – GZERO Summit (Tokyo)

This student internship will be based at Eurasia Group’s offices in Tokyo.
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and/or eligible for academic credit for this internship as the position is unpaid.
Eurasia Group, an independent research and consulting firm specializing in global political risk
analysis, is seeking an organized and motivated intern to assist with preparations for our annual conference, the GZERO Summit .
The GZERO Summit tackles the critical challenges created by a leaderless GZERO world, and political, business and media leaders come together to share the best ideas and unique insights on the geopolitical, economic and technological risks and opportunities that the world faces today. The intern will support the GZERO Summit senior project manager, plus members of the Japan Client Services Team, in organizing the event. Other tasks include helping team members with day-to-day tasks that are necessary for the smooth running of the business. The intern will be working with a highly professional, hard-working team with a diverse range of experiences as well as responsibilities within the firm.
The internship will provide unique opportunities to learn about the political risk field, gain experience planning big events, develop basic professional skills, and network with a broad range of speakers and analysts.
Responsibilities include: 

  • Administrative tasks including drafting correspondence, maintaining and updating the Summit database, and managing timelines for deliverables
  • Conducting content research for the main Summit themes
  • Assisting as a show-runner on the day of the Summit
  • You must be available to work on November 16th to 18th 2019
  • Some event planning experience is required
  • Educational background in international affairs, political science, economics, business or related field
  • Fluency in Japanese required; Japanese-English bilingual candidates are preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • All candidates must be eligible to work in Japan
 Candidates should have a strong interest in the Japanese and global business world, as well as in international affairs and politics.
