Analyst, Middle East - Iraq/GCC (New York, Washington, London)
Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and motivated analyst of Iraqi and GCC politics and international relations, to be located in the firm's New York, Washington, DC or London offices.
In this position, you will assess the political risks resulting from political, economic, and security developments in Iraq and the GCC states, particularly Saudi Arabia. You will be well versed in domestic Iraqi and domestic Saudi politics, Baghdad-KRG relations, oil politics, and the dynamics of succession in Saudi Arabia. Your work will cover issues relevant to multiple business sectors. Therefore, flexibility and adaptability will be required. You will perform in-depth research and will write both short analyses and longer papers. You will frequently brief both private sector and government clients. You will therefore have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills.
You will also understand the management and coordination of complex research projects. You will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality research products and coordinate the activities of analysts and associates with regard to both research and business development. You understand deadlines and you write in a succinct style at native English standard.
You will have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience that displays both your capacity as a researcher and your knowledge of Iraq and the GCC states, and an advanced degree in political science or another relevant discipline. You must understand the relevance of your research to a broad range of investors and companies. Previous research or consulting experience is preferred.
