Analyst/Director, Commodities (London, NY or DC) Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and motivated analyst or director to join our Energy & Natural Resources practice. In this position, you will work with the Director of Energy and Natural Resources, with specific responsibility for assessing the political and regulatory risks impacting the global commodities sector. Specific expertise in metals and/or global natural gas is preferred, but candidates should be competent in a broad array of commodity sub-sectors and may be asked to contribute to coverage of areas such as oil and refined products. You will have the opportunity to develop coverage of commodity issues of relevance to Eurasia Group's financial, corporate, and government clients. You will have the ability to develop market intelligence and forecasts leveraging the Eurasia Group country risk platform. You will perform in-depth research on topics such as resource nationalism, environmental policy, geopolitics and other major industry trends. You will write both short analyses and longer papers. You will prepare and lead briefings for both private sector and government clients. You will have excellent research capabilities as well as analytic and writing skills, at native English standard. You understand deadlines and manage competing demands on one’s time. Prospects with significant commercial experience and industry relationships will be considered at the Director level. You will have at a minimum a MA in political science, economics, or business. A foreign language skill is a plus but not essential. Candidates must have demonstrable academic and work experience that is relevant to global commodities research.
