Middle East and Africa Practice Head (New York, DC or London) Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for the firm’s Middle East and Africa research division to be based in either the firm’s New York, DC or London office. The ideal candidate should have a deeper knowledge of one particular country or sub-region, but must also have a broad understanding of the Middle East or Africa as a whole. You will assess political risk resulting from political, security and economic developments in the Middle East or Africa, depending on your area of expertise. You will perform in-depth research and will write both short analyses and longer papers. You will frequently brief both private sector and government clients. You will also understand the management and coordination of complex research projects. You will have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills. You understand deadlines and you write in a good, succinct style at native English standard. Moreover, as practice head, you will assist in the recruitment, training, and retention of analysts, associates, and interns as needed. You will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality research product, coordinate the activities of analysts and associates with regard to both research and business development, and represent the views of the entire practice to clients. You will have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience conducting research on the region, Arabic and/or Farsi fluency, an advanced degree in Political Science or another applicable discipline is strongly preferred. You understand the relevance of your research to investors and markets. Previous consulting experience is preferred.
