Sean West

Sean West is a director of US political risk coverage at Eurasia Group. Since 2008, he has helped develop the firm's approach to covering the United States for financial sector and corporate clients. His research focuses on US fiscal, financial, retail/consumer, and trade policy and politics as well as national elections. He has appeared on broadcast outlets including CNBC, CNN, NPR, and Fox News and frequently appears in the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and others.
Previously, Sean worked for Deloitte as a management consultant in the areas of financial management and enterprise risk, including for US federal government clients. He has also worked at the Federal Reserve, where he published on secondary mortgage market policy. He holds a master's degree in public policy from UC Berkeley and a bachelor's degree in international politics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown. He also studied politics and government at the London School of Economics.
