Maria Kuusisto
Analyst
Maria Kuusisto is an analyst in Eurasia Group's Asia practice. Her focus is on Pakistan, but she also covers Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and conducts sectoral research on energy and mining. Maria has a bachelor's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and a master's degree in international law from the University of Tampere in Finland.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Maria worked as a research analyst for Control Risks Group. Before that, she conducted research on South Asia at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), a leading international think tank on strategic affairs. She was also a desk officer in the political department at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has travelled extensively in South Asia and the Middle East, including extended research trips in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, and Iran.
